Sweet Pea Parade 2010
The Cryssy's Characters float won the "best costume" category in the
2010 Sweet Pea Parade!
Swingin' on a star with Cryssy's Characters ... What a huge success! We had 18 characters on board our beautiful float for the annual Sweet Pea Parade! Our characters were certainly "in character", as Buzz Lightyear declared his plight: " To infinity and beyond!!!". Batgirl was out to save the day by running and kicking to deliver candy to the kids watching the parade. Spiderman shot his web, Ariel the Little Mermaid waved her sparkly tail, Penelope the Purple Clown was hilarious, the Clone Trooper kept starting wars with Buzz Lightyear for the enjoyment of the crowd! Elmo smiled and waved, despite the heat! Bongo the Gorilla played his bongos. Pirate Jack showed off his sword and greeted the kids with a: "Aarrggh... ahoy matees!" Tinkerbell fluttered her wings. Belle, Pocahontas, and Snow White sweetly charmed the crowd. Our Viking carried his weapons and had viking cheers from the standers-by. Santa and his sidekick Elf surprised the masses with an early appearance in August! Prince Charming and Cinderella literally "swung on a star" waving and greeting the citizens of Bozeman. What a fun time everyone had! Thank you to everyone who was a part of such an amazing event! It wouldn't have been such a success, if it weren't for the cast, staff and volunteers of Cryssy's Characters!

Special Key Volunteers:
Costume Design/Photographer/Sign Painter/Float Design/Catch-All Volunteer:

Joy Baker
What spectacular work Joy Baker has done helping prepare for this big event. Working days on end to help get everything ready in time, Joy was a key volunteer. Fact is, the float would not have been such a success without her wonderful help and support! Her fingers were sore from pricking them with sewing needles while preparing such costumes as Belle, Ariel the Little Mermaid, Spiderman amd Tinker Bell. All Sweet Pea float photos on this website are due to Joy's talents in photography and photo editing. Also running errands and tackling miscellaneous tasks for the event was such a huge support to bring this entire event together. Joy's skills in creativity and insight shine through in the costumes created, the photos taken, and the float that looked so beautiful! Thank you, Mom!
Float Design and Builder/Bubble-Gum Supplier/Float Clown Chauffer Volunteer

Steve DeBoer
Steve's long-time building skills came in quite handy for float preparation. Steve designed the float chassis, as well as came up with the terrific idea of placing his porch swing with a huge star on top to be featured on the truck bed. The 2010 Sweet Pea Parade's theme was: "Swingin' on a star", and Steve hit the nail on the head with that original idea! Steve supplied the Bubble gum that the characters, such as Batgirl and Penelope the Purple Clown handed to the kids who watched in amazement. Steve also chauffered the float in a colourful clown wig! Thank you, Steve!
Prince Charming/Float Builder/Honey-Do List/Catch-All Volunteer

Shane Deboer
Being Cryssy Saoirse-DeBoer's real-life prince charming, Shane was a natural at playing the part as Cinderella's Prince Charming. The handsome prince made the young girls (and Cinderella) blush! He greeted the crowds and children we spoke with afterwards with his truly kind and charming demeanor. Also being a part of the float design and building process, he and his Dad, Steve DeBoer worked together to make the float look outstanding! Shane's helpful attitude never diminished in all the extra help needed by his true love, Cryssy Saoirse-DeBoer, CEO of Cryssy's Characters. Thank you, sweetheart! I love you!
